GoEngineer SOLIDWORKS Webinar - Flattening the Curve with Surface Flatten

Take a deep dive into the Surface Flatten command in SOLIDWORKS Premium to learn about how to use the new updates in the property manager, for several use cases in an automotive context. We show how to cut and unroll the face of a pipe with a fishmouth cut at both ends using Surface Flatten. We can then use this flat to trace where the cuts need to go on the tubing. Then we jump into the seat and fabric design to show how to do bounding box nesting with additional entities within Surface Flatten. Lastly, we show how to utilize and understand the deformation plot of a flattened piece, and how to add relief cuts to minimize stretching on a flat around a curved surface as well as understand the accuracy slider at the bottom.
