My dad said the Star Wars 1977 was his first ever time he went to the movies and he says every time he sees 20th century fox he gets goosebumps

20th century fox fanfare and Star Wars theme is inseparable
John Williams chose the last note of the fanfare for the beginning of the STAR WARS main theme in order to make a smooth transition to the movie. Disney cannot make this magic ever again.

Ah, the most beautiful and satisfying merger of introduction logos ever. I always get chills seeing the music flow into the Lucasfilm logo. I miss it.

The Star Wars theme doesn't feel complete without the Fox/Lucasfilm opening

I had the weirdest feeling of dread with "Force Awakens, " knowing that Disney bought the franchise and wondering how they'd replace an opening like this and then...

Silent Lucasfilm logo.... Once upon a time.... Cue Star Wars fanfare.

It's like Disney knew they could never find an adequate substitute for this intro, so they didn't even try. Bittersweet in it's own way.

2005 always gives me goosebumps. Brings me right back to watching Episode III for the first time in the cinema, May 2005; exciting times, simpler times.

One thing we will NEVER get with the new Star Wars films.

Fun times. Seeing the new films without the 20th Century Fox feels so out of place

When I was kid growing up watching these movies with my Dad(may he RIP) I used to think that the searchlights were actually lightsabers. Good times, those were.

The 2005 version will always be my favorite.

As a kid, this is how I learned the word "fanfare." More specifically from the Star Wars soundtrack, which included the 20th Century Fox fanfare.

I loved how Star Wars got a special extended fanfare that didn't appear on any of my other Fox VHSs back in the 90s.

I wish John Williams' rendition of the fanfare should've been heard on the Home Alone movies. Like the 2nd one because it has the extended version of the 80s logo where the searchlights struggle to stay still.

Now that Disney has fully taken over both Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox, you can expect the restoration of this historic piece of music.

1:19 This is what happened after THX debuted to the world with the "Wings" Logo of 1983

I dont care what y'all say but the 1980 John Williams fanfare is the best. The horns at the end make it sound so epic!

Whenever I hear 20th Century Fox I know it’s a good movie

Although Disney did a decent job just making the Sequels have the silent intro, Lucasfilm logo, "a long time ago..." then the Star Wars theme, nothing will ever come close to the chills I experienced when hearing the 20th Century Fox music and seeing it flow into the Lucasfilm logo watching Episode III in the cinema, 2005.

Maybe we can have it again now that Disney bought Fox

How sick would it be if the 20th Century Fox fanfare is seen at the beginning of *_The Rise of Skywalker_* this December?
