Hero 12, huge problems at 7:05. Keep watching the video, you can see the buildings straight lines start to curve near edge of screen, sort of like a fisheye lens effect from the wide field of view. The "dark footage" is not dark, really doesn't do too well as you go into the evening. DJI Action 4 has proven to be better in those areas I really wanted the Hero but can't unsee those problems.

Nothing changed, go pro hero 12 looks like edited with sharpness in premiere pro.

Hero12 image is oversharped. Usually used to fake sharpness.

@4:40 im specifically looking at the sky, the blue building to the right, the reflection in the windows on the other building and the grass. I cant get over how much better the colors look on the 8. When youre vlogging the 12 clearly wins, but on the landscape shot the 8 takes it. Thanks for the great video

Audio cut at 4:38 from 12 to 8, you can hear more background noise with the 8. Not an issue as for me I would prefer to hear more background noise especially for outdoor videos. Some might not be a fan of that so it’s a win win for either person imo.

Were the protune settings the same for both?

Maybe not too fair a comparison for a first impression, the Hero 8 is being shot in morning light and the Hero 12 is during more sharp daylight, which is less flattering in terms of colour. I think the wind canceling is a lot better on the 12 and it looks a fair bit sharper and less mushy.
