It should now last another few decades. It's the player I remember having the most success with back in the day. It still does not disappoint.

I always lusted after one of these back in the day but had to settle instead for other shoebox recorders as tape drives. Picked one of these up boxed about 6 years ago and it's the least reliable tape drive I have! Hardest to load from and I wouldn't dare rely on anything saved to it. Even changing the drive belt has done nothing. Possibly tired old caps but I've got other older tape decks which have never had any servicing at all and they work better than this. Must have got a dodgy one since they do seem to be held in high regard (and they do look badass!)

ha! I've got the same keyboard on my mister..
I've not tried it, but is it possible to use the audio jack out connected to the tape deck to save a program?

Hey, I have one of these and just used this video to successfully change the belts, so thanks. However.. while I can hear the sound coming out of the tape deck (using monitor or sound amp) I get no signal from the unit when trying to load a game. Any Ideas?
