FREE System-wide VST Processing for Windows! (updated with better solution!)

In this video I will show you how to use a program called Pedalboard 2 to process your Windows system audio with VST plugins.
I previously made a video showing that you could use a program called Equalizer APO in Windows, but several features on various plugins would not work with it.
This isn't an issue with Pedalboard2, which also seems a lot more stable overall.
This video and demonstration was made using Win10, but there is a MacOS version available on Niall Moody's website as well (I haven't tested it yet though!).

This is really handy if you want to reference audio with the Slate VSX or Acustica Sienna headphone software.

Thank you so much, works great on Win11 with Waves 14 NX Nashville and Sound Shifter. I can listen to any audio from streaming, YouTube etc in a real space on the headphones with pitch correction to 432. Brilliant!

can someone explain what the difference is between vst plugin and EQ? does vst plugin achieve a sound EQ can't and how? what sound is it trying to emulate?
if i want my headphone to have sound that wraps around my head 360 degrees, with a bit holographic sounding, how can i do that?

When I double-click on the blank area, there's no option for VST selection. Anyone else? EDIT-- bro, I appreciate your video but if someone uses a custom plug-in folder, you have to SPECIFY what folder it is, first.... by specifying it in options. Also, for anyone with older plugins-- Pedalboard 2 crashes INSANELY when scanning. Put VSX in its own plugin folder, and only add that custom plugin folder. Voila. Also, I could not get this method to work, at all, sadly. Tried Voicemeeter, the thing you suggested, etc. Maybe the problem is my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 1st gen. I don't know. But whatever. I'll just use reference WAVs and MP3s inside the DAW, which I had a ton of, anyway. Would be nice to be able to route Spotify, but... no go. Maybe eventually I'll figure it out.

I'm not able to get the sample rates to match, I've got everything set to 48KHz (Windows Audio/VB Cable/RME Interface) and it keeps defaulting to 44.1 in Pedalboard, when I choose Windows Audio. Any ideas on where it's going wrong, please?

Hi, when I choose CABLE Output in "Audio Setings" I have an error who said "Couldn't open the input device!". Maybe, do you have any idea to fix the problem ?

Right now every time I load VSX from the VST list the Pedalboard 2 .exe just goes into a Not Responding state.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong :(

What did not work with Equalizer APO? Here it works fine. Also using a loopback and need to launch the app every time you start windows is not an optimal solution. Equalizer APO is a part of the system so you don't need to fiddle with loopbacks and separate software.
