I have had a pair of these since about 1999. Same pair! I lost count but I've had them resoled 3-4 times. I am retired now but I wore them as a professional fire investigator with Las Vegas Fire. I didn't have to change to fire boots to walk in to hunt for the fire point of origin. These boots are waterproof and will walk through anything. This singular pair of boots have also been by riding boots since I got them. They have about 190, 000 miles on two wheels. Great boots!

I have my Chippewas for a couple of years.Excellent boots to ride and to walk, after they're broken in. My advice to you is to get your boots with a snug fit when wearing a thick pair of socks and use some stretching tricks if necessary, or have professionally stretched by a local shoemaker. Another nice trick is to deliberately use body lotion inside your boots to hydrate the leather, don't forget that your boots were alive someday, and they need to replenish its vitality . On the outside, it seems crazy, WD40 ! Water Displacement, the best product to make your boots water repellent. Good Luck!

I have a pair of black leather harness boots Chippewa and I love them! I have had them for four years now and they get better the more you wear them! I have other harness boots but nothing compares with a Chippewa.They are one of a few boots made in America! The red wings are made in China! If you want a good quality boot but chippawa!

These Chippewa Engineer Boots are the best made and most bad ass boots available, I had one guy walk by and said, " damn those boots don't mean maybe " , Now with all this said, they were the most uncomfortable boots I have ever had ! it was torture to just put them on, took at least 5 minutes to get them on, then my feet killed in them, every step was painful, i kept them for 15 years and kept trying to wear them, never could finally sold them on Ebay, Now i'm afraid to try them again, just seems the construction is not for my feet.

I find that polishing my boots immediately after I take them out of the box helps break them in quicker. I use kiwi polish

They should’ve put a lug bottom on them. Those soles don’t really give me the traction that I’m looking for.

I had these Engineer boots I loved them you can feel the quality as soon as you pick them up, people walking by would comment, " damn this boots don't mean maybe " and I would agree. HOWEVER, i could never wear them longer than 20-30 mins they killed my feet OMG torture, i had the right size too. I have had other engineer boots too and they are very comfortable but NOT these Chippewa's, ugh I had to sell them and I do miss them still.

I use Red Wing 2268 Engineer Boots, TheBootGuy is right, no shortcut, wear them daily, then it's part of your feet.

The heel cup does not hold the heel down. Maybe a little friction but it's not the functional part. Just the instep and the angle of the shaft

I bought the Cody James Engineer Boots cheap knock off it's not bad very good for the money
