Fun Fact: In early drafts and concept art, Rey was named Kira. According to The Art of Star Wars: The Last Jedi making-of book, the name “Kira” went all the way back to George Lucas’ original outline for the Sequel Trilogy. And the name certainly fits Lucas’ penchant for quasi-Japanese-sounding names and may have been an homage to Akira Kurosawa, one of the directors that heavily influenced the look and feel of the Star Wars saga.

Ok, so technically, Rey’s father is a direct clone of Palpatine and it is accepted among the characters that he is her Grandfather.

Kylo’s Mother is Leia, who is the daughter of Anakin Skywalker, who was born to Shmee Skywalker… with no father. The movies strongly imply Palpatine knows how to “influence the midichlorians to create life” and in the Darth Vader comics, Anakin is presented with a vision that borderline confirms his mother’s Virgin birth was induced by Creamy Sheev himself.

Assuming that’s true would make Palpatine Kylo’s Great Grandfather and Rey’s Grandfather.

Which would actually make Rey Kylo’s aunt. 😬
