Greta makes a very clear and confronting statement. It conflicts with existing capitalist interests, what explains why we read so much anti Greta talk as well. She just shows the other side of the medaillon, lots of people are not willing to listen to, just completely stucked in the present system. For me Greta is a hero. Let hundred Gretas bloom!!!

I’m from Poland and I’m little bit confused

1. Polish coal miners are the most powerful trade union in the whole country. There were hugde protests when our last prime minister wanted to close some mines.
2. Polish prime minister Mateusz morawiecki made a promise to miners that Poland will not stop exploiting coal because that is the main point of energetic safety in our country. He said that because he knows how miners would react.
3. If any coal mines were closed in Poland It’s not due to climate change but some of them are just unable to still make a profit

So this fragment about polish miners just simply sounds like fake story

A speech in her own words would sound more authentic. On top of that, her call for stopping investments in fossil is already outdated, large investors are already reducing their participation herein due to promising green energy developments. You can't reduce them to zero by tomorrow because for the time being, if ever, green sources like solar, wind and hydrogen won't scale up to satisfy the exploding electric demand.

Why oh why are we giving this individual a platform

as an environmentalist; I think she does a disservice to the green movement: although her message is welcome in a way to move to a cleaner, greener planet with increased urgency ; her youth, somewhat delusional anger and emotional tone is not advancing that agenda by rubbing a lot of people the wrong way. Also, the climate change debate and science in a political arena are an adult matter - I hope she joins the debate later once she has calmed down and matured a little in adulthood.
