I just started using /e/ last week and LOVE it. I didn't like the home screen either, so I installed a different launcher (arc launcher) so now, it's dang near perfect. I was getting ready to replace my Motorola Moto G4 Plus, because I couldn't get LineageOS dialed in on it. I had a horrible battery drain issue and some camera issues but they disappeared with /e/. btw, thanks for your work on this.

It's "a custom ROM" or "custom Android", not "Custom ROM _for_ Android".

Or if you want, "a Custom ROM for Android *_devices"._*

I installed it a couple days ago with the Aurora store and I like it a lot. What you don't like about hiding apps from the home screen is possible. If you try to place the icon on the top left position of the second screen, it will work, but I had to try many times to find this. I like to have a very basic home screen so this was important as a feature.

Nice one Thom, wasn't aware of this project - shame there's only an unofficial version for my device though.

Simplesmente, fantástico. Jamais imaginaria achar um tutorial sobre essa rom... estou usando ela no Oneplus 6t e quase desisti, não fosse este video,

Any chance you could do that video on installing EOS? I found it super confusing, with a lot of steps a non techie like me doesn't understand... such as enabling adb, fastboot…. USB debugging… which TWRP … installing Heimdall, etc. And also can it be done on mac, or it must be PC? Thanks!

Don't buy an OPPO phone - you can't root them these days, they have removed fastboot/bootloader altogether and locked recovery mode to signed os packages. It's not possible to mount the filesystem and overwrite the permissions.

4:41 Android Calculator is the most important app EVER!

MS Windows Calc.exe was so awesome, but then google made something even more... 'awesome' xP

Also, by installing /e/ you might as well install Pixel Experience with all the google-y features. You're essentially entering a google-like ecosystem, just with a different name and provider. If you want more privacy, install LineageOS or really anything wlse without GApps and self-host Nextcloud.

Acabei esquecendo um detalhe: estou usando a versão mais recente Android 9 Pie de janeiro/2021 no Oneplus 6T.

I don't understand why you would move from one system to another that still requires an account for your apps etc. Seems counterproductive.

Why not use total launcher? It is like uccw except as a whole launcher which can be backed up with backups copied to other devices.

Out of curiosity, could one use a 3rd party launcher like Nova Launcher on a ROM like this?

How do you get wireless service and data on DEGOOGLED ANDROIDS, though?

Could you make a video about how to install it on a casual Android brand phone for this Linux phone?
