Actually, prosts pitstop wasn’t because of mansells puncture. McLaren already had planned for a pitstop before the race, while williams wanted to go the whole distance on one compound. Prost would have pitted regardless of mansells blowout. Pique however was brought in because of mansell, as a precaution, however it was rumoured that the tyres that they took off were very much capable of finishing the race and apparently mansells puncture was an anomaly, and not an indication of overall tyre wear of that compound.
