An excellent video. An eye opener indeed. But a question: Why such obvious plagiarism by Copernicus has been overlooked by the world of Science for centuries?

I wanted to seek your permission to reupload your videos on our channel, or ask you to collaborate with Sirat Al Mustaqeem... But the only thing that stops me is use of Music in your videos

The mathematics involving the use of an extra epicycle to explain the lunar orbit developed by Ibn Shatir corresponded with those used by Copernicus and there may had been direct or indirect influence or even plagiarism if Copernicus had direct access to Ibn Shatir's work. However, Ibn-Shatir stuck to geocentric model for the solar system and he simply improved the mathematics in Ptolemy's model. This was only a minor aspect of Copernicus' work. The model used by both men was improvement over a perfect circle used by Ptolemy but still erroneous, since the Earth-moon distance does indeed vary, but on the other hand the moon does not go around in a second circle either.

Muslim astronomers had doubts about the Ptolemy model but they never really made the jump to the heliocentric model. That's the long and short of it.

Good work Sabreen(the patient one :))! Again the question boils down to the fact :

Thay Tou Aaba Woh Tumhare Hi, Magar Tum Kya Ho?
Hath Par Hath Dhare Muntazir-e-Farda Ho! (That's for me not you!)

Good job! keep it up!

So Copernicus plagiarized a totally bad idea from Ibn-Shatir about mechanics of the lunar orbit and naturally deserves zero credit for it, but then developed a very good idea about the solar system from his original approach of examining retrograde planetary motions from perspective of the Sun and the Earth which he calculated would be eliminated when observing from location of the Sun in a heliocentric system, and he referenced Aristarchus as originator of the heliocentric model for the Sun-Earth system. No plagiarism here and instead an insight of a true genius who built on earlier partial half-correct Greek ideas which he duly referenced. For this he deserves a full credit unless he can be exposed here as a plagiarist. He did hit a low when he plagiarized Ibn-Shatir so anything he wrote about the moon, full moon or the crescent is of no relevance and Ibn-Shatir deserves here the full credit. Muslim astronomers have also been known to plagiarize Greek ideas, although Ibn-Shatir seems genuine even though his ideas turned out wrong.

Totally wrong, the Earth is flat, the water can't bend. Knowledge is power.
