Macrame wall hanging Tutorial | Easy DIY for Macrame Beginners

In this Tutorial I'll show you how to make macrame Wall hanging. This product is a combination of natural wood and macrame. It will be very easy to do!

Size: 44x37 cm

Length of stick: 52 cm

1 step. Take rope 4 mm cotton twine.
2 step. 14 ropes of 1,5-2 meters.
3 step. 6 ropes of 2 meters.
4 step. 4 ropes of 2 meters.
5 step. 10 ropes of 3 meters.

If your rope is thicker, then increase the length.

Here are the knot names used in order:

1. Larks Head Knot (the beginning when all strings attaching to stick)
2. Square Knot (center piece)
3. Double Half Hitch (the diamond pattern in the center piece)
4. Half Knot Spiral (second step after the center piece)
5. Alternating Half Hitch (third step)
6. Double Half hitch and Square Knot (fourth step)
7. Larks Head Knot (tassels)

With attaching of all the pieces together in the middle I improvised so I don't know those knot names.

I struggled a lot and it took me sooo many hours, but i finally did this beautiful macrame! It was my first this big piece. Hope this list helps every real beginner, which I am also. If I do this piece again, it's going to be easier and faster. Thank you Sasha.

Loved this tutorial, this was my first macrame and I found it pretty easy to follow!
For those who wonder how long it can take, I made it in 7h30... It was long but totally worth it!

For anyone asking how long the fringe is at the end: 45 & 23cm...I had to read through SEVERAL comments (per Sasha) to find the answer to my original question. Hope this helps...

I love your design. Thanks. What would be really helpful is a full list of all the lengths required are displayed at the beginning of the tutorial so you can prepare before starting. Also, can you please advise the finished length, using the cord lengths you use - I may want to make it longer.

I've always wanted to learn how to macrame...and realized all of the knots are the same from when I made bracelets as a child many years ago and I had no idea! I know I'll need a lot of practice still, but I feel way more confident to try it out now!
