Narcissist have delusional thinking. Like when they insist that you’re cheating on them or lying to them or whatever it is that they believe in their inner dialogue. And yes they believe their own lies. It’s like it’s part of their survival mechanism!

This is a real mental illness. A beloved member of my family struggles with delusional thinking and it is SO hard to get them help. Particularly if part of their delusion is that doctors are the enemy, and prescriptions are poison.

Last part, very good advice. Even on medication they might not stop believing delusions they already had without expert professional help. AND if they don't get help to understand their illness quick enough they might decide the side affects (because they have unpleasant side affects) of the medication aren't worth it and just stop and go back to having delusions.

I am so thankful I now see how delusional I was in my psychosis, it can be terrifying if you don't know that you are having a psychotic break. I pray for anyone who is going through psychosis.
