It didn’t snap the neck, the wind resistance kept the pelican from turning its head back around. Which is mind bogglingly smart

This is among the best real life action film i've seen in a while. Falcon is a powerhouse predator. More dramatic than a big cat savagery.

That little nod the falcon did before attacking was like it telling us "its go time" 🥶🥶

What a brilliant animal. Up against a much larger animal, it literally interrupts its flight by pulling its head back so it can't correct itself in the wind resistance... that was absolutely incredible. I am in awe.

The falcon is a super intelligent, agile and aerodynamic bird!!! 💖🦅❤

It pulls the other birds head up, causing drag to pin its own head upwards, then losing control. This falcon also punches its prey with its talons during a fast dive.

I didn’t know falcon punch was a real thing tbh 💀

It wasn’t hunting the pelican, there was actually four of them that flew to close to the falcons nest, which had young in it, after repeated warnings from the falcon, the pelicans ignored the falcon, which then attacked the four of them one after the other, and downed them all into the sea

that's fascinating, if you slow down and look closely, the falcon actually grabs the end of the beak and pulls it upwards :O

This is incredibly impressive, lightening quick through the air and super intelligent?
Take that!

The Peregrine is trying to kill the pelican, it’s just giving it a warning for flying to close to its nest site.

They shoulda listened to him the first time he told them not to come near his nest. Respectful parent ✊

The pegrigrine wasn't hunting it, it was moving the Pelican because it perceives it as potential threat.
A hunting peregrine goes into what's called a stoop, reaching speeds of 200mph and kills it prey with the force of the collisions closing speed, almost like a hammer blow the prey doesn't know what's hit it.

These falcons roost on mountain cliffs, we've seen them in the Smokys, at chimney rock..They are incredibly fast, talking hundreds of miles per hour..Perigan Falcons are so fascinating.

That falcon flipped his beak back and he couldn't bring it back midair. That bird knew what it was doing

It wasn’t hunting the pelican. This location is the Torrey Pines reserve in San Diego. There is a nesting pair there. Any poor bird that flies too close to the nest is going to get driven off or killed.
