as a child growing up with a single Mom struggling with mental health and being shunned church after church. I'm so grateful she never lost her faith in our always loving & always forgiving Heavenly Father Jesus.

Oh what a sad scenario. Far from the life of joy God intends for His children. I had depression long ago but that was before I gave my life to Jesus. Friends, if any of you is a believer and still struggling, firstly make sure you've received the Holy Spirit. This isn't "automatic" like churches teach. Read the book of Acts, you need baptism, and prayer to receive the Spirit, usually with laying of hands (not in my case, I was alone when I received the Spirit).

When you've got the Spirit, that's just the beginning and you're still a baby. You need to grow in the spirit so get yourself into the Scriptures and hear the voice of your Father and follow. The first half of the book of Psalms is specifically for people who are in a dark place, look through it and you'll find prayers that reflect how you're feeling, however bad it is. Whether you can't sleep, or you're ill, or whatever.

But also make sure you've repented of any sin in your life you know of. Many churches teach that you can keep deliberately sinning and be saved but that's not biblical (eg Heb 10:26, John 15:6, Rom 11:22, etc). Giving up sin is a huge commitment, but God will make it easy. Also be careful not to listen to churches about what is "sin" because many of them lie. (for example, sexual desire is NOT evil). God tells us what is wrong in the Bible so if it's not in the Bible then it's not sin.

Giving our lives to Jesus doesn't take your problems away, if anything they will get worse! 😀But His gift is the spiritual blessings which gives us joy, and hope, and peace, even when all around us is going wrong. It's not an overnight transformation, but each time you face a trial and put your faith in God, calming your spirit in faith, you will grow, and see your faith rewarded.

Not easy, but that's why we have each other. Avoid "church services" they're useless. Meet with believers privately, don't dress up on ceremony like in churches - lie on their couch, open up, weep, share your problems, confess, and pray together. When a number of you get together like this, that's true church.

Prayers for me are also welcome. God has given me several exciting ministries I hope to share with the world soon, including teaching correct doctrine, and a very special Bible I'm making. But I've had health setbacks and things have been tough, just had a REALLY bad year. But through it all I find myself happier than I've ever been through spiritual change, a change that's happening slowly to all who belong to Him.

But I love that we can RUN to JESUS and HE provides everything we need... even the right people in our lowedt moments! ❤
