Hi mate.. the spring is set up incorrect.. the little spring that goes on to the tab. The tab needs to be bent up right.. then it should run fine..

I had one like that revving it's guts out. New spring's a bit of Fettling and it was running fine it was a Briggs and Stratton 500 series. Cam I suggest a camera stand I bought one from Amazon for about 12 pounds mate.👍
