do fades through a neeve console like theyused to back then and realise that it actually is a job in itself compared to pressing cntrl+f on pro tools. it was a strange art back in the day because the fade was created by routing and bussing the song through a fader on a mixing console where they would do a manual fade out to their liking.

I did it once in collega and it was a pain in the ass compared to the latter of your options actually
