This is a beautiful 1957 Ford Thunderbird that can be shown at local car shows or used for touring or weekend use. It is well appointed in its original Raven Black with Flame Red interior, and the more powerful 312 CID engine with the automatic transmission.

This T-Bird was bought from an estate sale in 2012 to become part of the Calumet Collection in La Jolla, CA. It was said to have been owned by the deceased owner and his uncle before him, who acquired from new. It has garnered two first place awards at shows in Del Mar, CA and the T-Bird club show in Long Beach.

The livery is impressive with Raven Black (Color Code A) that has brilliant luster and shine. The canvas convertible top and the factory hardtop with its iconic porthole are also black and look great. The black is deep and rich and is stunning against the abundance of chrome featured throughout the exterior. The chromed original (not reproduction) Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels are brilliant. Overall, the paint is in nice condition. There is one small bubble on the hood and a few touched up areas. The hardtop has a small area with a dent and scratch. The chrome and stainless is in overall nice condition.

The interior is in pleated Flame Red vinyl (Trim Code XH) and is stunning looking when contrasted with the Raven Black exterior. The interior is in very nice condition throughout. The red carpet looks very new as does the entirety of the interior. The engine turned dash trim looks great and very sporty.

The D-Code engine is the venerable 312 CID V8 with the upgraded four-barrel carburetor delivering 245 hp. The only modification is the replacement of the carburetor with a Holly, both for performance and reliability. This T-Bird also specified the Fordomatic automatic transmission. The T-Bird runs and drives beautifully.

We have this T-Bird priced very fairly. The Hagerty values for the 1957 Thunderbird are: No.2 Condition $44,100 and for a No. 3 Condition $29,100, while the NADA Value Guide has the average retail value at $68,900. This is definitely a No. 2- condition example and ready for showing or touring.

I dig the old yellow on black California plate. Our '62 Ranch Wagon had one -- PVZ023.
