Not sure but seems some confusion.

1. Making charges are high in Dubai compared to India as they consider the local labor for the making charges.
2. Tax is not applicable or negligible, but even then if you buy jewellery from dubai and the same from India, it will still be cheaper in India.
3. Couple of advantages of buying from Dubai : a. You see a better variety and b. One is confident about the jewellery being bought is 22k or 24k and pay the fair price only.
4. Buying a coin from dubai is best (upto 50k for men and upto 100k for women). There are no making charges for it, so cheapest in that sense. I personally have witnessed for 7-8k difference between india and dubai prices for the coin.

Lastly as a request share some details on sovereign bonds and how we can buy those? HDFC shows sovereign bonds option in netbanking but no one from HDFC bank has been able to guide in the portal... similar challenges with other banking sites as well.
