Borough Market, once London's principal Fruit and Veg. market, before Covent Garden, which was mainly Flowers back then. My Great Grandfather and Grandfather had a pitch there in the late 1800's early 1900's, importing then Exotic fruit and Veg. from Europe, South America and the Caribbean, refrigeration in ships holds coming into usage then as the latest technology in steam cargo ships. Borough Market is right next door to London bridge station which made the transport of produce to the market from ports other than London ( the Port being less than 100 yards away between Tower and London Bridge ) and the Garden of England, Kent, easy and quick.

Renata - As usual a really nice presentation of my capital city where you found some really great places to visit and eat. Borough Market is legendary. And I suspect you didn't do this in January!
For a football lover you should have mentioned 'London' is the home of Premier Clubs:
Arsenal
Tottenham Hotspur
West Ham
Fulham
Chelsea
Crystal Palace

Tottenham of course now play at Wembley Stadium while their new stadium is being built
