11,000-year-old “Stone Age wall” discovered in Baltic Sea

Archaeologists have discovered a mysterious wall beneath the Baltic Sea that they believe was built by Stone Age hunters to ambush reindeer.

The wall was discovered by marine geologist Jacob Geersen during seabed surveys with students from the University of Kiel in Germany.

Experts suggest that the wall was built around 10,000 to 11,000 years ago when reindeer were known to inhabit the region.

“If we assume that it is a hunting structure, then it is for reindeer hunting and then we have to look at when the reindeer left these latitudes and headed north. And then it was 10,000, 10,500, 11,000 years ago,” Marcel
Bradtmoeller, an expert in prehistory and early history at the University of Rostock, said.

The ocean has come up 120 meters in the last 10000 years. It continues to rise, at a rate much slower than it had during this period ( up to 5 meters in 100 years at times ). These hunters may have been peeved that their structure got flooded but today we are way more worried because 2/3 of us live close to the same ocean.

Climate change was as important in the Stone Age as it is today. Too bad that wall couldn't prevent the glaciers from melting. Needed a carbon tax on fires that heated their caves!

How can they possibly know by guessing at a date at about 11, 000 years ago by carbon dating of human hand stacked rock walls underneath the Baltic Sea? Just like they were guessing it was for reindeer hunting is a hypothesis.
~But somethings that are true for sure:: it is a stone wall that at was built (hand stacked) by human beings which is now underneath the water. It happened at a time in the past when it was dry land and the ocean-sea levels were much lower in the ancient times. Then it got flooded over with water as ocean-sea levels increased higher.
