I wish Apple would add a feature to let you stop charging at 80%. I typically have been doing this manually. My iPhone 14 is down to 90% already.

My iPhone 14 Pro was 100% till May, and now we're at 90% for some reason. I thought I was the only one with that problem, at least not. So crazy.

I’m at 87% on my Day one 14 Pro Max. Crazy low. Never had any other iPhone drop below 100% before a year.

Regular iPhone 14 here and I'm down to 89%. Almost always stick to the 20-80% charging advice. This is crazy.

basically Apple is telling you to upgrade to these years iphones due to the battery drainage

14 Pro from October at 97%, but was at 100% a month ago. Dropping to 99-98-97 rather quickly. No change in usage or charging habits.

I've switched from the iPhone 13 to the 14 Pro Max because the 13's display felt a bit small. While there's a noticeable difference in the pro features and I like dynamic island, pro motion and AOD, the battery life hasn't improved significantly. I've observed a battery difference of around 10-20%.

Apple needs to get seriously accountable on their part. They can't keep getting away with this.

I bought my 14 pro max in December. It is at 97%. I use it everyday and charge with a wireless charger overnight.
I would really like to see a "use slow charging overnight" option.

I’ve been charging my phone on a small 5W charger every night except for a total of around 4 weeks on various vacations where I used my MagSafe charger and now 11 months in I’m still at 100% capacity.

Glad I stuck with my 13 Pro Max. I got it on launch day, pre ordered it. I had 100% battery health for a whole year. But that first year I only charged my battery to 80%. After that i started letting it charge to 100% and a month later it finally dropped to 99%. I'm currently at 94% and still get really good battery life. I will probably get the Iphone 15. Just depends on the upgrades it has. I wouldn't mind keeping my 13 Pro Max another year. Its been great.

Interesting video. Thanks, though it came as a surprise, after discussing it with my wife, I can see how folks that live on their phone would have battery life issue. My and my Wife's iPhone 14 Pro phones were bought from the first batch the local dealer had in stock. Both of them are used every day, but not intensively. My wife uses hers (mostly the Nook and Kindle apps, and sometimes games) way more than I use mine, though mine has the Libre 3 and weather apps active 24/7. The health reading is still 100% for both. I have no problem getting a day out of the battery before it gets to the 25% range. I can sometimes go 2 days though it gets down to <10% which isn't good. We both charge on 30W chargers when we charge them. I need mine available at hand when I sleep incase I get a low glucose alarm, so I charge it and my watch for an hour every evening before bed.

Edited to add: If my wife uses hers a lot during the day it will get down to 10% by dinner time. She said more battery life would be appreciated, but not enough to put up with the bulk of the MAX. Based on our experiences with the Xs MAX, the MAX phones are too bit.

I'm on the lucky side with the 14 Pro Max. Got it on February, charge overnight via cable with an Anker 15W charger, and the capacity is still at 100%. I never let it go below 30% of battery and basically never use wireless charging.

My iPhone 13 is 10 months old at this point and has 90% battery health remaining (and has had 307 cycles). After completing 150 cycles, my battery health was at 97% if I recall correctly and my usage hasn't changed since then but the battery health has been draining like crazy over the last 4-5 months after recent iOS updates.

I am a day one user of the iPhone 14 Pro Max and my battery health is at 87%. Ive been using a 5W charger for daily use but I did notice my phone getting quite warm for really no reason even with light usage while plugged in.

I knew something was off. My 14 PM, with always on display off, has felt like it’s had much worse battery life than my 13 PM did. This is very unsettling that Apple hasn’t resolved this, considering we are at the end of the iOS 16 updates.

Do I trust them to have fixed the issue in the iPhone 15s? Or do I go back to a 13 PM? 😅

I have thought for years that it would be great to be able to cap the battery to 90% in the settings. I really hope they add this soon, especially now that it's becoming more common in Android

As an tech enthusiast, I would love more control over charging. I'd love to be able to set it to only charge to 80%, because I'm always near a charger. As my family's tech support guy. I see how normal people wouldn't want to be bothered with something like that. - Bake in assumed best practice charging behaviors into Focus Modes, and put more advanced settings in Settings, for the power users.

18 months with my 13 pro max, 87% battery health, standard charging typically. That seems reasonable to me. I knew these "Always on display's" on the 14s would likely cause an issue regardless of what they did with the batteries in those phones, because the Mah was not going to be dramatically increased and they were going to rely on software based charging, in my mind I didn't think it was going to fare nearly as well as previous gen Iphones, looks like I was right.

My niece has the 14 pro max. I’m amazed at how bad the battery is. She’s always hitting 10% before the end of the day. I have the 13 pro max and it seems much better than her brand new iPhone.
