Coronavirus: Who are the key workers who can send their children to school amid coronavirus crisis?

NHS staff, teachers, delivery drivers and police officers are among those on the official list of “essential” workers needed in the UK’s fight against coronavirus.

The Government has published a list of “key workers” whose children will continue to be cared for at school amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

It was published in the early hours of Friday, when most schools will shut their gates until further notice under measures aimed at stopping the spread of the killer illness.

The list has been separated into eight categories, including health and social care, key public services - such as those essential to the running of the justice system, religious staff, charities and journalists - and transport.

Yesterday, these were all "Low paying workers" not worth a second look to the government. Today, they are essential to the survival of civilization as we know it.

It is only in times of crisis that we know who we truly need. Bankers and traders are not the foundation of our society.

The government needs to at least double their salaries for risking their lives and for working extremely hard while everyone else is self isolating themselves & families 😔

So with this new advice surely the schools should reopen seeing as teachers are key workers and as most other work is considered 'key' by Boris most of the kids will be returning to school anyway... Confusing message or is it just me?

After you have counted in the obvious 999 Emergency Service employees, you would be hard pushed to find any other workers who for one reason or another are NOT vital Key Workers.
And, ...once you also factor in Venable Children from unstable families that must also go to School then how on earth are you going to find many Children to stay at home?

This list includes most of the professions in the society.

They say don't travel unless absolutely necessary and then they call them "key workers".
