Sen no Kaikyo at Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival 2022

An original piece composed by Eitetsu Hayashi, world famous taiko player from Japan. Eitetsu was commissioned to compose a piece honoring the unity of volunteers who came together after the Hanshin Earthquake of 1995, which devastated the city of Kobe, Japan. Volunteers came together from near and far to help rebuild the city in the aftermath of the earthquake. “Sen No Kaikyo” translates to “1,000 Sounds of the Sea.”
