This is a story of my favorite minus sign in physics. It's also a great example of the stubbornness of our universe.

Lmao I love this guy - he opens the video with a page ripped from his previous video on Faraday's Law - but mostly because emits a fun attitude throughout his explanations. More teacher's ought to exhibit their passion and enthusiasm like this. Especially the crypt-keeper-like teachers, y'all need to take notes.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Great job!

I really appreciate the explanation. I have been doing fine on the problems but I didn't fully understand the processes at the root. Thank you.

"Oh look! I found Elves!" had to pause video because I was laughing so much. This is the only way to teach physics.

Easily one of the best explanations I've heard for anything. Lenz's law will be much easier to remember now!

Tension is the answer. Once the energy has been flipped or pushed past the point of neutrality, it never looks back. :). Great work BTW!

lol @ your ring being a flux capacitor. THANK YOU for making this so concrete. wish you were teaching my class.

Thanks!

Why loops get used to the field...
A magnetic field that changes in time causes an electric field. Because the induced field counteracts the change, there would be a point where the change in magnetic field over a period of time is zero. Therefore change in magnetic flux is zero. And since there is no change in magnetic flux, there is no induced current. Then it goes out of B, and counteraction process repeats.

What makes loops "get used to" the field they're in ? I'm not sure about the answer, so could you help a bit Doc?

Yes! The right hand rule shows the current for a charge being dropped into the magnetic field is going clockwise, but remembering Lenz' law, the current will oppose the flux and go counterclockwise as it enters. Correct?

Hey Doc Schuster, can you please make a video about Eddy Current...
