Open Studio Night 2016

Greetings from the Studio 20 program at NYU:
Still the world’s only studio program in journalism education, focused on innovation, project-based learning, and figuring out where news needs to go. Every year as the fall term draws to a close we put on Open Studio Night, in which the program’s graduating students present their final projects in innovation, which they have spent six months working on.

This year’s projects include:

Fernanda Braune-Brackenrich: Introducing vertical video to the Financial Times social team
Igor Carrasco: A tool for surfacing evergreen content at the Wall Street Journal
Steeve Roso: A 360-video approach to covering e-sports live for Daily Dot
Yifeng Jiang: A virtual reality strategy for Frontline PBS
Eva Revear: Preserving news apps so developers in the future can learn from them (with ProPublica)
Qifan Zhang: How can the Huffington Post overcome all the barriers and gain a foothold in China?
Kim Bode: Improving Facebook’s live video feature as a journalistic tool
