Many years ago in the early 1980s (maybe soon after we were first allowed to have Holy Communion in both species) I actually SAW BLOOD in the Chalice as the priest handed it to me and it was FULL to the top! I feared if I tipped the Chalice it would spill out all over the white blouse I was wearing. So I held it and hesitated for quite a while. Since the priest (in our parish in Australia) motioned me to go ahead and drink from the Chalice (as there were others waiting behind me to drink) ... I tentatively and slowly began to tip it up, then I was completely surprised when I began to sip a little... because it tasted like wine, and I saw there was only a little in the Chalice after all. I was a convert to the FAITH and by faith I believed it was the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus... but after that happened I KNEW it was the BODY and the BLOOD of Jesus! He has been my daily strength over the years through many difficult times. We need to be fed with His Blessed Body and Blood.. Somewhere in Scripture I once read where God told the prophet: "Eat and drink ...OR you will not have strength enough for the journey!" THIS... God continues to tell US all... TODAY!! May he be Blessed and Praised for ever.
