Here in east central Mississippi many farms have been infested with a plant called Cypress Weed or Dog Fennel. This plant is HIGHLY invasive, it's seeds are spread when there is high winds associated with a rain event. All I can say is the Dog Fennel has gotten out of control here on the farm!!
In today's video, I'll show you & y'all how I cut my horse pasture back and my plans on keeping that pasture somewhat free of Dog Fennel!!

Check it out and I thank ya for watching!!

It's amazing how we all can grow huge weed patches with little or no effort but have to work our butts off for a harvestable crop. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Have a great week.

Nice update on the farm goings on, Dan. Glad you are able to get some stuff done, brother. Hope you kick those sinus issues sooner than later. I feel you on that dof fennel problem. One of our micro orchard looks like that before picture. LOL
Have a great rest of the week, my brother.

Yes me to rain and weeds I have worked myself to death trying to keep it trimmed. Some of my weeds came from the horse feed they put cheap filler in it some times~

Weather has been a roller coaster ride once again. Tray says thanks for cutting his pasture. You missed my video on breaking our all time tomato record. Been a hot summer but now it looks like winter is fixing to move in. Stay safe and have a great week. Keep that shine on brother!

Wow youNyalls was cutting some serious grass. That's crazy when the grass is taller than you are. You certainly had the right equipment to tackle it. At 3:14 love that horse. Do you ever ride Trey the horse? Can you show us again when you feed the animals? I like watching that. Maybe make that one weekly video feeding the animals.

Pollen is high here and I feel it. But being out in the middle of it you are getting mega doses! Your work never ends! Love your horse, he seems very sweet. Take care Dan!

Hope you get feeling better Dan! Trey just loves you or he wants a treat 😂. Too bad about those weeds taking over so hopefully your solution of keeping it short will work. Thanks Brother!

We've got dog fennel around here in Tennessee. It takes over fairly quick.

You sure are right about that grass. Since we got that week of rain on and off the grass been growing fast. We've been dealing with sticker burrs. It's all over the city I noticed. I've been having too mow once a week now. I think it's back to the hot summer weather now. Looks like we might not have a fall. The lowest it got here at night is around 65 them during the day back up too 95

We've been dealing with poke weed round these parts. They sure are pretty but deadly. They spread like crazy. We think we have it eradicated. Then the next spring/summer, it comes roaring back.

I, sure enough, have trouble with that dog fennel too. Can't stand to smell that stuff either lol. I have heard that if you improve the fertility of the soil that it won't grow. I am working on trying this on my food plots for my hunting area to see if that helps or not. We shall see. Looks so good after you cut it. There is always something to keep you busy isn't it Dan?
