More than 100,000 demonstrators gathered in India’s northern Punjab state on February 21, 2021. Protesters have been camping on the outskirts of the capital New Delhi for nearly three months, demanding the repeal of the agriculture reform laws that farmers say will hurt them and benefit large corporations.

Tens of thousands of HK rally: front page on every News outlet on earth.
Tens of thousands of Indians rally: the front page is still about China.
I suggest if Indian farmers want attention from all media and government on earth to put pressure on Modi
just raise the Chinese flag and every problem will be solved instantly.

Free Punjab now! An independent Punjab is the answer. No more oppression by Delhi.

This is really amazing to see the unity between the farmers and how arrogant the politicians. Shame on Modi and hats off to the farmers.... Modi should step out.

That's A LOT of people protesting! You won't hear this in Western media at all. But they are obsessed with protests a fraction of the size in Russia and Myanmar. The main Western media channels publish several videos on these per day. I wonder why.

I don't know anything about the bill, I only know that I can't survive without food. Whatever the farmer protest, I'll support because we are feed by them.
Rich people don't even know what hungry feels like.

Our country's PM Modi is very much cruel and inhuman in mentality poor and middle class peoples are suffering a lot along with this many harsh decisions. Really our country has never been in unrest so far as much as now under this tyrant dictator.

CCP eliminated small landlords decades ago otherwise the same Punjab farmer protest will happen in China today. Nowadays most of rural population in China have moved to cities for manufacturing and service jobs. The small family farms can now be grouped together and farmed by single entity to maximize the output of farm lands through machines, better technology, and scale of economy.

Modi government knows how to modernize India's agriculture sector. The output of India's agriculture sector has reached a plateau, caused by over-reliance on underground water and exhausted benefit from fertilizer. Farm output is now badly hindered by inadequate irrigation and inefficient logistic infrastructure for market access. Few years ago the states have passed more authority to village councils but each of 70, 000+ villages only look out for their own, while those critical problems required solutions at national level remain unsolved. Modi is actually working against those parasites of traditional 5-elder village council system and incompetent middlemen. Common farmers are simply incited to protest because of fears, lies and ignorance.

If India fails to break open this shackle and adopt an East-Asia model for modernization, I can see India's potential to remain untapped. After one or two decades, perhaps Bangladesh will become more developed and modernized than India.
