Thanks for taking time to share your experiment.

beside air purifying, are these plants still worth it when it comes to producing oxygen?

This was really informative, and I love how you delivered the information. I’m working to become a holistic interior designer, and was looking for ways to improve air quality. I too was told that plants would purify the air. And that’s just not feasible based on what I’m researching. So thank you for this video! Subbed!

Thank you so much! That was extremely helpful from Hosea -Ypsilanti, Michigan 😀

i like the idea of this experiment but it's deployed incorrectly.

1) plants don't "purify" air. by means of photosynthesis, the plants take in C02

2) most air purifiers are labeled so (just like plants) for marketing purposes. the reality is, they're air filters and most are not purifiers. speaking specifically to your air filter (stated High Efficiency Particle Arrester aka HEPA), is designed for particulate matter and not VOCs.

there are air purifiers on the market. i know because i own 3 different kinds- air ionizers, UV-C, and titanium dioxide filters. i also own two run-of-the-mill HEPA units from Austin Air for air filtering. there's also scrubbers but those do not apply to this experiment.

This is too rough Tenney. What do you mean by air purity? You have not covered the significant reduction of carbon dioxide that C4 plants have on the room at night ( bromeliads and succulents) which also exude oxygen by day. (not the plants you used which have a different system). You only covered the reduction of Volatile Organic Compounds, but ignored carbon dioxide and oxygen content. You also did not measure the air when the room had neither air purifier nor plants which is required as a control.
