I loved those books. I first read them as a young adult. I actually started with the 2nd book, I saw it on the shelf at price chopper and I knew I needed to have it. I was able to relate to the character at a time when my life wasn’t very good. Reading that series started a long love of fantasy novels. I love Idalia and Jermayan’s relationship through the series. The Magic concept was always one of my favorites.

This is one of my favorite book trilogies, it makes me sad that it isn't more well known. I absolutely love the audiobooks, and usually re-listen to it every year or so.

Have you ever read Terry Goodkind? The Sword of Truth novels are worth reading if you divorce them from his political ideology. When I read them I had no clue and I saw the big enemy as a synthesis of Fascism and Communism with the ignorance of the populace being a nagging problem but that wasn’t his intent. That series has been getting me to think about authorial intent and audience reaction.
