Many will say RV life is hard. Living on the road fulltime can be difficult, tiresome and challenging. We share with you our thoughts after 3 years of full-time living. Is it exaggerated? Is it impossible? Or is it all bull****?

Thanks for another honest and positive video. We’re also heading into our 4th year and the unexpected will always happen. Our Tucker has had so many different issues like a fox tail in his ear, eating something on the beach that made him sick…….things we never thought of. My whole entire outlook has changed being on the road and it’s due to people like the two of you that we meet along the way.

We have explored more of this country because we own an RV. Just last night, we were discussing this with my sister-in-law, who travels with us, and was nearly in tears from the incredible places we've visited. She would never have traveled like this or seen so much of the country otherwise. While we are not full-timers, we travel quite a bit, and it’s always an adventure.

I really enjoy your videos because they convey the positive aspects of RVing. Our friends often think we don’t encounter issues because we don’t dwell on them, but on our last trip, both of our slides failed to retract, and we had to call an RV repair technician to come to the campground to fix them. However, this issue was just a small part of our overall experience. Anyone who has traveled in an RV knows that challenges will arise, and we have chosen to embrace those moments rather than let them derail our trips. Again, keep doing what you do.

This was a really thoughtful video Chris and Katrina and so true on many levels. Look forward to more of your travels in the future.

I’m looking into van conversion life for urban living. I just want to be a single, independent local professional musician on wheels who is sick of being fricked over by landlords, property management, and the system and rely on my own skills and talents to survive. The factors of why people are quitting van life seem to revolve around choosing to travel and sharing their space with another person, on top of many other valid reasons that would make it difficult. Especially finances. But you have to deal with that wherever you live. Whether you’re living in a house, in an apartment, living in your car, completely off the grid, or van life, you’re always going to run into troubles. It’s all about knowing who you are, educating yourself on as many factors as possible, and being self accountable. With that, you know what poisons will work for you.

Less about travel and high priority on survival and self sufficiency. Not everyone can be independent or alone or “off the grid”. Which is perfectly fine. The best part is you guys did it. You gave it a chance and educate us (especially ignorant me) and can say “Yeah, I did that! I can do a hell of a lot now!”
Thank you guys for your inputs! I’m sure it was an exhilarating and eye opening experience. But I’m going for it no matter what humanity says. Only difference is I’m looking for local survival where most van lifers seem to be looking for van life on the road. The economy is crazy and life won’t get better playing “their” game. Especially when you don’t have a choice and are newly homeless and still employed.

Totally agree with everything that you said. The good definitely outweighs the bad. We are going on 3 years full-time and have absolutely no regrets. The best advice we've ever gotten, and we give now, is, "Be flexible so you don't get bent out of shape."

Thank you for focusing on the positive. This was placed on my heart to take off some time next year- I have been researching and still looking for a camper. I then joined a fb group for newbies and got a bit discouraged due to all of the negative issues. I have subscribed to your channel and hope to find more info and help from you ❤🎉 Thanks!

Thank you for emphasizing the positives regarding RV/Van Life. I am also tired of all the negativity around this.

Thousand Trails tried to scam my wife and I about 25yrs ago. It's a long story and we ended up having take them to court and get a court order for them to end our contract. We will NEVER EVER even consider that company again.

I’m a newcomer and appreciate this video. I’m planning to buy an RV for full time living in the next year (about 90% sure) and I find myself going back and forth, which is probably normal, but this was really helpful to see y’all’s opinions! Thank you.

Liked and subscribed. Love the natural and sincere way you guys talk about the RV life. I am a retired teacher who moved to Thailand for a year. Missing the American people and the endless and ever-changing beautiful landscapes. Coming back in October 2025 to live the full time RV life with my best friend who happens to be a golden retriever named Sky. Guys, thanks so much for your honesty and for helping people like me make the jump into RV life.

Thanks you two..this was a fun conversation. We are starting FT living in s 23 foot escape fiberglass trailer in july. Although we are very positive- thinking people when we made the decision to do this we started to think about back up plans for the "what ifs" so we can adjust along the way. Im happy to say you helped me check off the few you mentioned that were not on my list:
I have no pet (check)
I dont enjoy the bathrub (check)
We have ageing parents and children on both sides of country so we will actually see them more (check)

Keep having fun!

Love this. Just found your channel while doing some research, subscribed!! We are hitting the road, June 1st. Very excited to finally see what it’s like to camp!! I’ve been selling RVs for going on 6 years and I want to see this country (especially before we have kids 😅)

Love your channel. You both are authentic which is refreshing. Katrina: plan your trip so you hit up hot springs like in Arkansas, Palm Springs, and British Columbia. It is heavenly!

Great video, really enjoy your channel! You tell it like it is for sure. Full time here 10 years. When we started there were no content creators, just written blogs! It does get easier the longer you live this lifestyle. I can't imagine any other life, but I know it is coming as we get older and things "happen" as you say. We wish we had started in our 50's ILO waiting until retirement. We live in such a BEAUTIFUL country. We have discovered after living on the east coast for 40 years we now spend our time out west where we love the beauty and the solitude. We still workamp in the summer and do our own thing in the winter. Cruising is our hobby when not working. Last winter an 18 day cruise to Hawaii, coming up a 35 day cruise to Hawaii and Tahiti. Living with less "stuff" is just wonderful. Keep up the good work, looking forward to following your travels. PS - NO fan of TT here, just another time share thing, would never never buy into that for sure, but to each his/her own.

Hubs and I are working on replacing our Class A after it being totaled in an accident a year ago. Lots of healing has been going on, but we can’t wait to get back on the road!
