I remember in 1973 during the energy crisis, they KEPT DST. When December rolled around, we were going to school *before* sunrise!
My English teacher dubbed his morning class "Sunrise Semester"! :)

I like to think that 'daylight losings time' gives us an extra hour of daylight in the morning - for a while, anyway!

I can relate to this. I too have got stuck with no job and no job experience, thinking my life would be better if I wasn't stuck in a 9 to 5. I definitely work way more hours than people with normal jobs. I also feel really sad about all the art and music I haven't been able to do.

At the same time, I can see almost everyone struggling one way or another. The cost of housing is too much these days. You can't live cheap even if you wanted to. I've been thinking about saving my money to buy a van and live in it just so I don't have to work every hour of every day. I could just write songs and paint. And I consider myself "lucky" to even have that option.

I really hope something works out for you.

When ya goto a town that doesnt change thier clocks, it feels weird when it gets dark just after 4PM and the 11pm news comes on at 8pm. This makes the long nights seem even longer. I like daylight savings. When I visit my Dad in Arizona, He goes to bed at 8. Thats the time Inwanna be awake cause the temps have finally fallen to a livable amount of heat. Ya gotta change the batteries in all those clocks anyways

Hi, Fran! Would you believe, I had a lot of sleep today, because I was thrown off by the time change? I am watching this for the first time at 9:20 p.m., where I live (21 :20 for the rest-of-world). Thanks. :)

I sort of photo bombed our local news back in high school around 1982. The local news was there as the buses left, I was at that back of the bus and waved at the camera as we went by out the back window. It got on the news but all you could see was the flat part of my hand going side to side, because that back window was pretty dusty, so you couldn't make out much of anything else. My seconds of fame on tv, and you couldn't tell it was me.

how is it that UNIVAC predicted Eisenhower winning for the 1952 Presidential election but we can't do that now with recent elections or modern day computers? Do we need to fire up UNIVAC again?

Guess what every time I have heard about non clock reseting the trend is to stay at daylight savings time .A totally artificial time setting?

No way I have half as summer clocks and half as winter clocks to much trouble time to change watch for a weather proof one.

Speaking of time, what will happen to the words CLOCKWISE and COUNTER CLOCKWISE in this digital age? What words will we use to convey these ideas?
