In addition to the video this may help.

Strum pattern (swing style): d-du= 1 strum cycle; d-du, d-du= 2 strum cycles. D= down, u= up. Most chords are played for 2 strum cycles unless they are in brackets or have a "/" meaning you strum down once on the chord listed and let it ring out at least until the next chord comes up, this includes chords found in brackets.

Song lyrics, plus chords (chords are listed on the line above the word they come in on, always start playing a chord on the first down strum of a strum cycle) :
G Gm7
Hold me close and hold me fast
G6
That magic spell you've cast
[Am -D7]
This is la vie en ro - se!
Am D7
When you kiss my heaven sighs
[Am - D7]
And when I close my eyes, I see la
[G -D7]
Vie en ro - se.
G Gm7
When you press me to you heart
[G6 - G7]
I'm in a world apart, where roses
C
Bloom!
Cm6
And when you speak
G
angels sing from above
Bbdim [Am- D7/]
Everyday words seem to turn into love songs!
G Gm7
Give your heart and soul to me
[Am-D7]
And life will always be, la vie en

I apologize if some of my explanations were a bit wordy, I wanted to explain it as best as I could so it wouldn't be confusingly vague. I also apologize to anyone viewing this comment on a tablet, laptop, or computer; it probably looks pretty funny, but this was the only way I could format it to look right and know things were positioned in a way that has a chance of being helpful. I hope this helped and it took me less than an hour to type up on my phone! Thank you Cynthia for putting this tutorial out.

OMG, what a voice. You can reach those lovely high notes whereas my husband says I have a rough, thick New York accent singing this song. On a good note (no pun intended), you are one of the Ukulele teachers who have given me such valuable instruction. I adore your teaching methods because you understand what it’s like to be a novice so you give clear, concise and easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions to learn these songs. I am definitely one of your adoring fans and followers. To have such a beautiful, kind and talented lady teaching me how to play my Ukulele, well I’d say I hit the jackpot. Thank you Ms. Lin.

I've been playing this song on the ukulele for a year now. I play it on my concert Luna, my baritone Caramel, and my tenor Cordoba. I Love this song in all these voicings so much, I'm thinking of telling people I wrote it... (JK)... LOL... Thanks Cynthia for teaching us this beautiful song. For those who would want an easier vocal line check out Eileen Brennan's version in the movie "Cheap Detective". It is Hilarious!! No need to speak French OR English, just LA LA LA... even I can do it... LOL. Cheers!!

hi Cynthia!i'm 41 years old and i play guitar (electric, classical, semi-acustic) since my 16 years old and its my big passion. (and it's also more or less the same playing base).now i got into this new level of learning and exploring new and diferent instruments and their playbility.i also bought recently i russian balalaika withouth having no clue how to play it or even how to tune it! so i made a research and explored some stuff through youtube wich also helped me a lot, but what it matters to ukelele, i just bought one a few hours ago and  loved the way you made "la vie en rose" as a tutorial!i just googled "ukelele tune" and #ukelele tutorial" and i'm happy i found your vídeo.you made it  easy learning, interesting and pleasently to watch and to play along.great teacher!thank you and keep on with the good work.(by the way, you also have a great voice to sing)Obrigada. greets from Lisboa, Portugal :)

I remember when I first started ukulele about a year ago and this was one of the first songs I wanted to learn but this tutorial was way over my head. Now I come back to it after practicing and practicing and I can play along much better ^_^

I bought a ukulele as a present for a friend and set out to learn a couple chords to give them a good starting place. After finding your channel all I want to do is play ukulele all day, much to the chagrin of my neighbors I'm sure.

I absolutely love your tutorials. Very professional, concise, and thorough. Simple enough for a beginner to follow and you cover everything from switching chords to strumming patterns. It's hard to find such a comprehensive and easy to follow lesson. Thank you so much!

I'm sure this goes without saying, you have a beautiful voice :) Definitely teared up.
