It’s great until your cat works out how to let its friends in. Used to find the neighbours cat in our house because our cat would prop the door open for him so the latch would not close. Rescue cat didn’t like the cold so she invited the other cat in to play inside.

Bless. It takes them a while to get used to using their head to open it. It's such a relief when they get thought it for the first time though. She's gorgeous. All the best.

We’ve had a new door fitted this week and chose the same microchip flap like yours. One cat had no problem. The other is scared of the clicking noise and disappeared for 24 hours in protest. He returned but was very suspicious of new door and flap. We took the batteries out and he will now use the flap. Won’t put them back in for a while, let him get used to it and try again when we are home all day. Fingers crossed.

I’ve just purchased this exact one today from my local Pets At Home. I spoke to a member of their staff telling them that my cat Honey, is 11 yrs old, very timid and shy of strangers, is getting very upset and distressed due to another neighbouring cat coming through her cat flap and eating her food. We know this for sure as we have security camera front and back. My cat Honey is my fur baby, and as much as I love cats, my baby comes first. We’ve fitted the new flap today, and put the batteries in. I got her to put her head through in order for it to read her chip. All seems to be working, she’s been out through it. She was a bit nervous coming back in as it made a clicking noise(to be expected) but she did it. Hopefully this will now be the end of neighbouring cats coming in. We’ll just watch our camera footage of them trying, and we’ll laugh. Hopefully they will get bored and come to know that they can’t get in. Fingers crossed. My flap was only put in today but even with the Manuel I'm not sure which button to press to get the chip recognise. I'm going to use it for my dog so I hope I can figure it out. Mine is all digital operated which is nice but obviously more complicated for me. But great that you explained it so well., 👍

I have this exact make of Cat flap. We programmed it and for a while it was fine. One morning about 4 am, I heard a noise & got up and found another cat had gotten in but bolted back out through the inner & outer cat flap. Batteries were fine, but we changed them again just in case, and its happened again twice more ! Pulling my hair out now as to what to do.
