We have a pretty big age gap, so I thought we’d have slightly different childhood snacks 🤷🏻‍♀️ Have you tried either of our childhood snacks before?

I'm not Filipino but I grew up in a neighbourhood with a lot of Filipino families and I was very close with them! That Nutella and Skyflakes combo unearthed a memory I'd forgotten I'd had. Thank you!!

I remember eating coffee with bread all the time just dip the bread for about 2-2 1/2 seconds and then enjoy

Honestly, skyflakes is like a canvas (figuratively speaking) coz any sides/spread you pair with it, it still taste so good.

U should try peeling 2 Apples and cutting them up in squares then put them in a bowl and pour cinnamon and sugar on them, then mix it together with your hands (wash them first ofc) then eat with a fork

I was wondering why you guys as siblings were sharing childhood snacks as adults and not as actual children until he says "we grew up in the same house believe it or not" cause definitely, even if you don't share with them, you share with them 😂

Back in the 70’s (age 7) my Italian grandfather wanted to share something from his culture that he was sure I’d love. They didn’t have Nutella on US supermarket shelves yet so he had to send away for it snail mail which took about a month to arrive from Italy to Calif. He was sooo excited for me to try it and so was I! Long story but my grandfather took care of me from 4 mos on and we were extremely close, I adored him. He took the jar of Nutella out of the parcel box and ran to the kitchen for a spoon, he opened the jar and scooped out a good portion and put it into my mouth. The initial taste of that creamy chocolate/hazelnut spread was delicious.. until about 3 minutes later, I had a severe reaction to it and it was the day I found out I was highly allergic to tree nuts. My poor grandpa, I can only imagine how he felt. He had only tried to do something nice for me.. and English being his 2nd language he didn’t understand what the EMT’s were trying to tell him and he thought he had killed me! LoL We could laugh about it later but he was terrified in the moment as I’m sure anyone could imagine bc by the time the ambulance arrived my throat had swollen shut and I was past out cold which took all of 10 mins after eating that Nutella. It always looks so delicious when I see ppl preparing recipes or eating in on crackers (etc..) but unfortunately I have to stay away from it but it reminds me of my grandfather every time so it’s not all that bad.. may he rest in peace, I miss him every day. ❤❤❤🙏🏼

Bologna, mustard, and ruffles on a sandwich, I grew up on it and so did my dad it’s been passed down a whole generation, it sounds bad but it’s great but make sure it’s with Beef bologna

That chocolate oatmeal is one of my favorite ways to prepare oatmeal. A while ago I "accidentally" bought an entire kilo of instant oatmeal in order to kinda force myself into habitually eating something healthy for breakfast. At the time it seemed like a logical decision since it's a cheap source of protein and fiber for a college student like me. But then I ran into the problems of figuring ways to consume them in a way that is acceptable to my palette and stomach, without using what I consider to be expensive ingredients such as yogurt and berries. And magically one of my friends decided to give away some nearly expired stuff to me, including an unopen box of cocoa powder with one month away from its expiring date. So naturally I try to incorporate them into everything I ate including oatmeal. My favorite way is to lightly sweeten the oatmeal and make the flavor profile more salty by adding some salt, and then drizzle some sweetened condensed milk as a topping. The saltiness balances the sweetness and also makes the flavor of the chocolate pop, it truly feels like an indulgence.

One of my favorite snacks to eat is Saltine Crackers with Duncan Hines tub chocolate frosting. It slaps. My and her sisters ate as kids because their mom ate it. The salty and sweet is so good.
Your brother's snack sounds like an elevated version of that.
