This man somehow fills the role of shounen protagonist, shounen rival, the chosen one's father, the chosen one himself, he said "I can fix her" and then ACTUALLY DID IT, AND he does it all with the single most energizing theme in his franchise without even being the actual main character. Godspeed Ky Kiske, you may have set aside your crown but you are forever the king of my heart.

As a father, I feel that

2:14 I like to think that this is a reference to the encounter that he had with Justice when she was brought back.
He said that he wanted to kill justice because what she was doing, killing people, was evil, but Justice said that she was *made* by humans to do that, so, the same way Ky was trained and pretty much molded to be a Holy Knight to kill gears, Justice was made and molded to kill humans for the "better world". And if she's only doing what she was made to do, *completing her purpose in life*, than it's *justice* .
That's what really threw Ky off and made him unable to fight with her, as he was questioning either he was doing the right thing or not "Oh I don't know what's right for the world, Oh I may have lost my way."
But he couldn't just turn his back on everything that he had achieved, all the ones that he had saved. "But there's no reason to doubt it now, so what do I have to fear".

I just loved that in those few lines it was able to tell a major part of the characters story. And that's why I love this games ost and this one is my favorite.

If you look at GGstrive character theme songs as ANTHEMS for each of the individual characters... your appreciation for the OST is dramatically broadened and solidified. Damn, Daisuke is the peak concept album composer.

Ky is the first of three kings in the European kingdoms and he has come a long way. He went through hardship, love, depression, oppression, and then happiness. For a game with a bunch of anti-heros, it is actually quite refreshing to see a full fledged hero in this game. Ky’s my main, so I’m biased about liking him, but I don’t care. He’s amazing. And his theme reflects everything about him being badass, yet honorable and shows that he wants to protect the Earth. Certified bop.
