No no no, I'll stick to CCNA.
I stared my IT journey last year in January. Trying to get CCNA before cert change (no prior knowledge or experience) then I realised there is no way I'll go fro ICND1+2 before the deadline. I got hyped by AWS, it was and still is a big thing. I was so excited, decided to go all in AWS, got my practitioner cert, thought to move on and get the associate level but all of the sudden, I woke up. There is no point in advancing too far on certs with no experience. I think it should be a gradual journey, once you have your entry level job, start aiming for higher certs, but until then, I'll aim for CCNA, getting ready to pass it by end of March, find a lower paid job, take the leap of faith, changing the current career to a first line support with the idea of fast progression to a decent role in 3-5 years

It's good that you bring this up. I've worked for several MSPs and other companies that have offered to pay for me to get certain certifications, but there were always catches. Based off of my experiences, here's what I would ask if an employer offers to cover the costs of a cert.

1. Are you offering to cover the costs of the training material? (Books, Videos, Subscriptions, etc)
2. Are you offering to cover the time it takes to learn the material?
3. Are you offering to cover the exam costs?
4. Are you offering to compensate me for the time lost during the day of the exam?
5. Will there be a financial incentive (increased pay) for me to obtain this certification?
6. Will there be a contract prohibiting me from seeking employment elsewhere for a period of time?

You'd probably be surprised how many employers would cover exam costs only with no compensation for the materials, the time to learn the materials, or the time it takes to actually take the exam, then lock you into an 18-24 month contract with no increase in pay during that period.

I got azure administrator in may. It is a very friendly certification if you already are MCSA or MCSE. Looking forward to learn AWS solution architect in September or October
