I think you might be the first of these these style guys on YouTube I have seen to make these suggestions. As I already buy shirts, trousers and underwear this way, it was nice to see the validation.

Great counterpoint to the other video! Great shoutout to Costco, I haven’t bought anything sartorial from Costco, but swear by their wine selection, really well-sourced and extremely aggressively priced! I tend to look for secondhand accessories on eBay, which given the current “dress down” attitudes, can be found for an absolute steal, despite high quality and provenance. I’ve actually started to make my own fragrances at home using formulas available on this platform, and also allow for a bespoke scent! Love the new backgrounds in this video, keep it up!

I have found Charles Tyrwhitt to be the best value for shirts and it’s a UK brand. 3 natural fiber shirts for $99 is pretty good plus their shirts have 31 inch arm lengths that I need and is very hard to find elsewhere. I tried Amazon’s brand and they are less expensive but the collar is not nearly as good. Great video, thanks.

M&S Collection have a very good range of quality shirts.
I buy used ones on eBay and they’re great for work. You’re so right about so-called niche fragrances. I have never found anything with good value. I agree. Aramis Havana is amazing for £20 and beats many higher priced fragrances into embarrassment! Thank you very much for this very informative video Ash 🙏🏼

I recently purchased several Banana Republic Luxe polo shirts from costco for around fifteen dollars each. These same shirts list on Amazon for forty eight dollars. And they are great casual shirts.

Nice to see some chaps touring the charity shops in my home town yesterday including two very elegant middle-aged gentlemen plus a young lad of around 15, all dressed in classic vintage style. At 6' 4" I'm not an average size for finding clothing bargains, new or otherwise but surprisingly pre-owned has been very good for me lately. My recent charity shop purchases include an immaculate dark blue Crombie overcoat for £25, an unworn Man by Lipsy (Next) Pure New Wool camel overcoat for £22.50, a new silk pocket square thrown in for free, a dark green Pure New Wool M&S pea coat for £10, an Italian 100% wool single-breasted navy blazer for £3.50, a Barbour houndstooth tweed cap for £3 and three pure silk ties for a total of £3.50. I also fancied some Tricker Stow style brogue boots for trekking along my local beach and up the New Forest, but being on a tight budget I settled for a pair of commando-soled Kurt Geiger tan brogue boots for £13.50 on eBay instead. They may not be as desirable as the Cheaney's, Tricker's or Loake's we all know and love but well worth a gamble at that price. They have no sign of real wear and the leather seems of good quality but they do need a damned good clean and a polish. I will enjoy bringing them back to life and hopefully they will serve me well over the coming winter. Adopting the In and Out policy I've sold various clothing items and shoes on eBay as well, which not only clears out the wardrobe but also funds any replacement items.

Great advice Ash. I purchased my shirts and chinos at the thrift store I get Ashley Brooks Brothers shirts for less than $10. I get Dockers Chino's for around $5. I also use eBay were I have gotten quite a few Barbor shirts and Purdey and two Holland & Holland shirts. Cheers Ron

Great video, Ash! We have a similar shopping philosophy. I combine the high-end ( or usually medium- end) with the cheaper accessories. In truth, its not even about not being able to afford it with me, its my sense of principle, practicality and dislike of brand-name hustle. The way I look at it, even if i had the money why pay more for things I can get at a reasonable price. I wouldn't pay $200+ on jeans even if I was a billionaire. Its just the principle of it, and I'm not getting caught up in a label con. Also, like you, I buy my underwear in a three pack of Boxer brief Hanes and they cover my ass just fine.

Check if you have an outlet store in your area. I was lucky to have 'The Savile Row Company' outlet store close to where I lived. I wore their shirts for years doing a similar job to you Ash. Staple white and light blue excellent quality shirts at a fraction of the London price, seconds for under £5, with minor mistakes no one will spot. If you are in the North of England perhaps look at Barbour outlet. If you are in the States check Old Navy. Ask stores when their 'price change day is, ' up to 70% off at times. Thanks Ash.

For fragrances, check out Oil Perfumery. They have their "impressions of" many designer fragrances and you can get a 10 ml vial of of perfume oil with a roll on applicator for 15-20 USD with 5 USD shipping

I have found chinos and jeans from George/Asda to be very good value and an excellent fit for my substantial, middle aged behind. They have a touch of elastine and wear well. I take the point about ethics and I agree however, these items are made in the same factory (in Indonesia) as M&S and some GAP items. Both companies have firm ethical policies (which you can read online). That eases my conscience a little but you make a very good point. We all need to be mindful of the effect that cheap fashion has on others - not usually good for them.

The bulk of my every day clothing are either from GAP, NEXT and before they shut down Samuel Windsor. Jeans, Chinos, Shirts, jumpers are all from their shops or websites, half my Shoes (Boat shoes, black Oxfords, a pair of Brown Derbies, a pair of Chukka Boots are from NEXT & Samuel Windsor. They offer pretty good quality for little cost, especially when a sale is on and I wear them most of the time. I do splash and the buy into Trusted heritage brands Like Loake, Crockett&Jones, Barbour, Burberry (I have one of their rain coats from the 80's), Allsaints, Sunspell, Thomas Pink(A few Shirts & a Tie), Turnbull&Asser(A Office Blue Shirt) Levi, Cordings Piccadilly Tweed Sports Jackets. My Smart Casual attire (makes up about 15 % of my wardrobe) that I reserve only for those occasions where I want to look casual but in reality, I have put alot of effort and expense. But sometimes, all I need are the quality core items shoes, sports jacket, a nice watch. The chinos/jeans & shirt/polo can be cheaper items as they become automatically elevated if they fit right and in good condition.

For me I have started buying shirts made to measure abroad. If you get the measurements rights and request the cut such as French, you can even have you initial embroidered in the cuff. I pay around £50 per shirt with the usual discount codes. They generally take around 3 weeks to make and ship from Asia.
