Remember, there is no right or wrong answer on gear. What works for you, works for you; what you like and what inspires you is the correct answer no matter what anyone else tells you.

With that being said, if you want to try pieces of your favorite musicians to get an understanding of what you do and don’t like - do it.

After all these years, the quest for tone has always been about finding gear that accentuates the sound of me.

The closest pieces of gear to the instrument are the hands - and I can say that the fine tuning of my pickups has done nothing more than accentuate the sound of my hands.

I have a question, it would be great if someone could answer me. I am trying to get my music to not sound like absolute trash and I would like to do some things right. How would this signal chain work in a DAW? The effects go in before the amp?
