I’m 13 years old and I’m hoping to get a iPhone 8 soon because I’m the only one in my LA/SS that doesn’t have a phone but I do have a iPod but it is losses battery when I’m only on it for 4 minutes. Also there are 4 people in my family and I’m the 2nd youngest so it might be hard for my parents to get a phone for me and my brother. Since I don’t have a phone I’m going to do what many ppl are saying to convince there parents by giving me a phone which is cleaning/ being responsible. I’m going to start tm Dec/1/2017 till Christmas and I’ll ask my family to give me money so that I help out my parents. But I don’t know what my brother will do because he has a Xbox one and iPod and I’m really wanting a iPhone and that’s all that I’m asking for Christmas. I would do the same thing if u want a iPhone it can really help ur parents out!

I am 17. No phone. No personal devices. Everything I use my parents see. It's the worst. In fact. My parents are watching me type this right now. Yay!

got mine when i turned 10 or 11, and I think it worked out alright for me, but that's before the social media took over. I only used my phone for calls, texts, games, internet, music and photography. Like a smartphone should be used. But I think that the "golden age" has increased. Social media has a big influence and kids under 12 may not fully understand it, and be able to use it responsibly. 13 or 14 is the sweetspot in my opinion

My daughter is 11 years old. Her father refuses to buy her an iPhone or android. We dont want her to be a zombie. Today, i took her to the park and her classmates were there with there phones out. They were snap chatting and showing off pictures of their pets and sharing messages from other ppl. My daughter felt left out because she doesnt have one. On the way home, she looked sad and was very quiet. I want her to fit in but its like i have to buy her a phone for her to fit in? This upsets me.

I feel like 11-13 is a good age bc there probably going to want to hang out w/ there friends and join school activities, play sports, have study groups, ..etc. I also think that they should pay some money for the phone itself if it's new. I'm saving up for a phone (i have to pay for it) and my parents are going to pay the plan!. If your Mom/Dad/Guardian don't want to pay so much, just ask for a ipod or a used phone like Certified Refurbished or a family members old phone. I personally have a Samsung galaxy tab 4 for 4 years now and there isn't even a single scratch on it!! So prove that your responsible as well. X♡X♡
