Hello. In this video you will see an example of diagnostics and repair of a common problem with CEM. Initially, the audio system and climate control did not work. The reason for this is the ingress of water into the CEM and the failure of three relays. To replace the relay, the CEM needs to be soldered into two halves and replace the relay, remove traces of water and solder back.

For anyone wanting to pre-order the relays shown in the video before removing their CEM:
2x Omron G8N-1L
2x NEC/TOKIN EX2-2U1S (now known as Kemer aka Yageo/Kemer aka Nexem, still sold under the same part number EX2-2U1S)
1x Tyco Electronics V23086-C1021A502 (now known as TE Connectivity, and sold under the new part number 1-1414760-0)
All are currently available from Mouser or DigiKey. Farnell and RS don't carry them (all).

Also, an alle Volvo Liebhaber mit älteren Modellen: Problem, Wasser im Fussraum Fahrerseite. Von aussen im Spritzwasser- Bereich alles dicht.... Lösung: Fußmatten hoch, Dämmung zum Mitteltunnel mit Cutter raus schneiden, kann später wieder eingelegt werden. Links Seitenverkleidung A Säule lösen, dann Blick auf die Fussraum Belüftungs Klappe. Gartenschlauch aussen vor der Windschutzscheibe auf das Rost und Wasser- Marsch....und siehe da. Unter der Umrandung der Klappe ein stetiges Rinnsal....Leute, das war dann doch eher easy mit großem Erfolg: Klappe raus, alles sauber machen, Dichtmassen schön aussen entlang, einbauen. Test: Volle Kanne in den Lufteinlass Wasser mit Druck....alles dicht und Schluss mit Aquarium im Fußraum. Grüße alle old School Volvo Maniacs

I have the same problem, but after cleaning and soldering i found new water which came from the big green plug. Did you know where it cames from?

I can't get the circuit board (CEM) out of the housing.The plastic halves sit so tightly together that you can't get them apart without force after loosening the screws. I'm afraid that I'll destroy something. Is there a trick or how did you manage it?

For me, the climate and radio work, but the car does not start, it starts but if I give more keys, someone told me that it is possible sapphire from cem, is this possible?
