Eleftherios Venizelos [Ελευθέριος Βενιζέλος]

Eleftherios Venizelos was a Hellenic Cretan who served as Prime Minister of Greece on multiple occasions. He was mostly known for being a Republican and standing for Democracy, he was also a big Patriot. Of course there were hard times and there were events not viewed as good by some Greeks but we must admit that he was a true Patriot and his Leadership was good and if it weren't for the barbaric Monarchy, his Leadership would have been more stable. He was also known for his Patriotic vision to take back Ethnic Greek land.

If Mustafa kemal Atatürk was a Greek. It would be this guy. He expanded the greek land 4x it size after the first world war 1. He fought off the Bulgarians and ottomans. He expanded the economy/population/literature and culture. Not to mention his arch nemesis Kemal Atatürk liked him and Venizelos awarded him with a Nobel prize. There wouldve been a Greco-Turkish alliance with those two. If only Venizelos dint die in 1936

I would just like to point out that Eleftherios Venizelos was excommunicated by the Orthodox Church for being a Freemason (which is illegal in Orthodox Christianity and an anti-Christian secularist sect) by the Metropolitan of Athens Theokletos on December 25th 1916. Venizelos' protege Meletios Metaxakis (a fellow Cretan and Freemason) was elected Patriarch of Constantinople (uncanonically) (& through simony and bribes) with his help and made the uncanonical step to adopt the Papal Gregorian Calender ( the Papist Gregorian calender was anathematized 3 separate times by a Constantinopolitan Synod prior to this) and adopting ecumenist statements such as recognizing the sacraments of heretics like the Roman Catholics and Protestants in an encyclical during his Patriarchate (the panheresy of ecumenism). Many would like to ascribe to him the glorious successes of the Balkan Wars, but it was him afterall that surrendered Eastern Thrace to Mustafa Kemal and the Turks without firing a shot while a Greek Army of 60, 000 occupied Eastern Thrace up until Catalca, less than 60km from the center of Constantinople. Lets keep in mind also that Venizelos was a Freemason like his "brother" Mustafa Kemal and both were committed atheists and secularists and that they were quite friendly with each other. I would go as far to say that the surrender of Eastern Thrace on his part at the negotiating table at the Armistice at Mudros was treasonous and just another example of Greeks backing down when Turks have made hyperbolic threats at the negotiating table to intimidate opponents. I would kindly request you reevaluate Venizelos by doing more research into his background. Venizelos was and is Greece's greatest "Kemalist" he did as much damage to Orthodox Christianity☦️ in Greece as Mustafa Kemal did to Orthodox Christianity☦️ in Anatolia

Now that I think of it, Turks are just Greeks that found out that are 2% central Asian and think that makes it okay to be racist. Kinda like the 2% black conundrum here in the U.S.

There is no doubt that Venizelos is one of the best prime ministers Greece has ever had. However he also made mistakes, & one of those mistakes was calling an election in 1920. While trying to stabilises the new territory of Smyrna while it was unstable
