Hey all, thanks for checking out my cover! This is my entry in Soundole's Chill Out 2023 cover competition. I had to do yet another Wii Party cover, this game's soundtrack is just too good. One of the most underrated game soundtracks for sure.
I did a full re-arrangement this time instead of a more traditional cover, and it was really challenging (and fun) to pull off! I pulled from a lot of styles on this one that I have varying degrees of experience with; it was a bit of a task, but I think I managed to make it sound pretty cohesive and not too jarring amidst all the changes. I learned a lot about arranging, especially for instruments I don't play like trombone, and mixing, as there were a lot of tracks to put together! I have to give a huge shoutout to my good friend Kayden Macey for lending his trombone skills to this arrangement. I knew I wanted to flesh out this arrangement with live horns, and his help made that possible. Thanks bro!

but actually this is just fantastic, I love the groove and then SUDDENLY TROMBONES!! You can't go wrong with that haha! The shift at 2:20 is also a really cool moment with that sweet walking bass and trombone lead. Really good stuff!

I got so excited when I saw this track on the list, and hearing it did NOT disappoint! The mixing is superb and all the parts of this come together so perfectly! I love how the sounds and rhythms keep evolving as the song goes on, keeps my brain happy though the whole thing! You guys should be very proud of this!

This was a fantastic introduction to your work! There's so much to love about this; all the creative turns in the arrangement, the rock-solid mixing and production, and all the expressive inflections in solo lines! There's so many cool details, for instance: I'm impressed by how cohesive you manage to get the unison trombone/electric guitar line in the outro - you make it sound easy! Thanks for taking part in this competition!

This is a bop. It is an elaborate arrangement with so much going on and yet we can hear everything so well thanks to a wonderful mix. I love the improvised solos and the rhythm changes.

Why is this so gawd damn good, and how do you have only 115 subs dude. I mean, the solo almost made me cream, do you know masayoshi takanaka? Cus one part of the solo sounded so much like takanaka, and the theme being in the solo.. Tooo good
