The final season of "Mad Men" has begun, so we decided to do a little tribute to the year 1969 in this version of Bastille's "Pompeii," featuring award winning singer / songwriter Tony DeSare. Tony even channeled Don Draper in the performance. See if you can name the songs that inspired this one!

The bassist stares into your soul, like he knows something you don't

Songs like these have a particular theme to them. Kind of a sad theme. Like a song you'd hear on the radio in a post apocalyptic land.

Honestly, this is my favorite from all their videos. I think many fail to the understand the context of the song, how the singer is morbidly accepting his faith. The kind of "weak" singing makes it even more powerful, showing the loss of hope and being cynical about what's occuring around him while slowly realizing that it's still the same since even before, everything was already falling apart.

The first 30 seconds were hard for me to get into, but after that when it hit the chorus it was really great! This guy has a great voice.

This is the perfect song to end "the good ol' days" (pre-chaos decades/60s and back) with.

I love this, especially cause you can tell how hard they work together at the start to get that syncopated rhythm going

Bethesda should really hire these guys to do music for the fallout series. I mean, come on, do you really think that not only would people still be listening to music from the 1930s and 1950s when it's the 2070s, but that there is no new music at all? Someone would make new music. This song would do well not only in the fallout game itself, but as the music in the trailer for it, whenever that may be.

"After the flash, nothing was the same...the world crumbled away like ash, it was just us left with memories of the past, it happened so quick, it was almost painless."

"Almost...."

This makes me think that Pompeii is actually an extremely well-written song.  It translates well.

My favorite of the Postmodern Jukebox, and I love their covers. Tony DeSare knocks this odd concept out of the park! Can't stop re-playing it...
