I did keto for five months, liked it at first, lost about 9 lbs, but then got board with it. Boredom gave way to eating more higher fat food and I gained some of the weight back. I’ve been eating a whole food plant based diet for 6 months and love it in comparison. For the longest time I would tell myself if I could get down to 145 lbs I’d be happy. I’ve gone past that and feel I’ll be loosing more. 😊

Went Vegan 🌱 10 months ago at age 37 and can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner, I feel absolutely phenomenal than I did in my 20’s, didn’t even do it for the fad, did it because we all need to challenge ourselves from time to time, I can’t even see myself even thinking about going back to the life style of slaving myself to fast food meat diet, made me feel so sluggish and down all the time, words can’t even explain on how great and clear headed I am, plus saving the life of the beautiful animals daily makes me feel good at night knowing that they are not being consumed by me or my family.

I believe that Dr. Milton is right, we are not designed to eat meat. However, for most of human history we ate what we had access to for survival. Choice of what foods we eat is a new concept. I believe occasional meat or bug consumption has benefits for humans, but meat should not be eaten daily, but maybe once or twice a week. Our Anatomy is designed primarily for fruit and vegetable consumption like our primates relatives with occasional meat consumption. It just so happens that we have the brain power to survive in most environments, so Eskimos can survive on high meat consumption, but they don’t live long and have weaker bones.
