"Isn't the sky supposed to be a god?"
I have to imagine Ouranos, the sky god, is just watching space Netflix or something and is using Atlas as a convenient back rest.

Heracles: "Hey, Uncle Hades, can I take Spot out for walkies?"
Hades: "Oh yes, please, he has been getting incredibly antsy lately."
Heracles: "Sweet, I'll show him to my cousin, he's going to freak!"

Fun fact: before remarrying, Heracles did some revenging (which involved multiple murders and sacking Troy) got himself sentenced to two more years of repentance labour to a different person, easily wrestled Thanatos (the Literal god of death) to the ground and almost got into a fight with Apollo and that’s not mentioning the gigantomachy.

For anyone who doesn't know, the only reason Nessus' blood was poisonous was because Heracles shot him with those arrows that he coated the tips of with the poisonous blood of the Hydra from his second labor.

Fun fact: not a moment after the labors were completed Hera drove Heracles insane again but this time he had to serve a queen. He wore dresses and sewed while the queen wore his Nemean Lion skin. It backfired because Heracles grew to like sewing.

2:28 I just really love the mental image of Hades an intimidating God, baby talking to Cerberus

2:43 Also how many takes did it take to get that scream

A common misconception or just difference in other depictions, is that he held up the sky, but a very common depiction of atlas is that he wasn’t just holding up the sky, he was holding the entire galaxy, doesn’t make much sense but I find it kinda funny he just was…..holding reality itself, which was depicted as infinite in Greek mythology

There is a version of the Atlas labor where Herakles is a total bro and goes "Why not just build a pillar, and we can both be free?"

I like to think that Deianeira just knew what her name meant and thought
"Best way to make my name accurate is to kill the manliest Unfortunately Thor isn't here so Heracles will do"

It is odd if ya' think aboot it how Hercules kinda won out over Heracles as the name most people say, because that's basically the only Roman name I can think of that's like that. For the most part all the other major Grecoroman mythological characters either go by their Greek and Roman names interchangeably for most people or there's a slight Greek bias if anything. Zeus/Jupiter, Poseidon/Neptune, Hades/Pluto, etc., people generally play it pretty fast and loose with all that stuff. But it's almost always Hercules as opposed to Heracles. I wonder why that is...
