The NYS Office of Information Technology Services GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Program Office will be presenting an informative webinar to highlight what they do in producing high quality spatial framework data for New York State (aerial imagery, elevation, address points, streets, civil boundaries, and parcels) and how Counties and the State can cooperate to our mutual benefit with more spatial data sharing. This is particularly important when it comes to open GIS tax parcel data, as counties own and maintain the parcel data, while the State collects and assembles a standardized parcel dataset which we share as widely as each county allows us to. NYS GIS will be sharing with NYSAC members, important information about the need for more open parcel data sharing and County-and-State cooperation in that effort.
