As per Ayurveda, pressure cooker is a big No No. I heard it from many Ayurvedacharyas. Also, dal and rice must be soaked for a few hours and that water to be discarded. While cooking khichadi on a flame, a white foamy substance will come on top. It must be discarded. I learned these Ayurvedic measures as part of my learning

You should’ve washed rice and dal before. Avoid using aluminium pot. Pressure cook should be avoided.

Wash rice and lentil before you cook them.. you can't pour rice straightaway into the cooker.. they contain harmful chemicals and powders mixed in them to stop the insects.. and soak rice and dal for atleast an hour before making kichidi.. everytime you cook rice.. wash it twice and then soak it with clean water for atleast one hour.. because you can't force the rice to boil or on pressure cooker.. it won't taste good..!! If u r making kichidi.. make sure it's satvic and don't add any masalas or onion and garlic.. or it becomes pulav.. !!
