Male Kiwi Calling

Turn up the volume!! We've waited three years to get a good video of a kiwi calling so turn it up loud and enjoy. There's something very special about being in the dark, silent bush and hearing the plaintive call of the male kiwi hoping for a reply from his mate.

I have a couple of Kiwi plushies with sound boxes in them, and it is nice to be able to hear how close those sound boxes are to the call they imitate.

Ive used this call to give my local lad a surprise.. he showed up the next night and made his presence felt with a loud call and a few grunts.. he has a mate and her call is different again.. i hear them most carm nights.. and a few more up the valley.. beautiful flightless birds that im blessed to have walking on my back lawn....
